Michael Williams
Mr. Michael Williams is a percussionist, performer, and educator located in the Northern Colorado area. From percussion ensembles and jazz band to solo repertoire and steel pan, he has developed an array of performance experience under the instruction of Dr. Eric Hollenbeck and Shilo Stroman. He currently teaches marching percussion, percussion ensembles, Jazz Ensemble II, and co-teaches the Concert Band at Loveland High School.
Mr. Williams has been heavily influenced by his experiences through his participation in DCI and WGI. In 2012 and 2014, Michael played snare drum for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps of Casper, Wyoming. In WGI, he has performed on snare for the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. He traveled with the Blue Knights as a DCI representative to Taiwan for participation in educational clinics and performances at the Taiwan Band Festival in 2014.
Presently, Mr. Williams l performs as a member of the Denver Nuggets Skyline and the Denver Broncos Stampede drumlines. Both groups perform at home games during the NBA and NFL season.
Mr. Williams has become a prominent music educator in the Colorado and Utah. He has taught local high schools in Northern Colorado during marching band and concert band. Along with his work in the Thompson School District, He teaches with other ensembles during the RMPA, WGI, and DCI seasons. He has worked with Silver Creek and Dakota Ridge High School, who took first in PCO at RMPA State and WGI World Championships. He currently on staff with the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble as the snare instructor. During the summer, Michael works as a percussion instructor with the Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps.
